stop why was this freaking good，， i read this in one sitting at the library and i felt like it rejuvenated my soul，， super light-hearted， HILARIOUS （plz i was trying so hard not to laugh aloud in the library）， with just the perfectly developed story and a cute romance that im super excited to see continue in the next book ，，， ugh it just hit right in the heart and it was super feel-good and like，， yeah only wish there was more baking that balanced the hockey talk and also。。 a tad less hockey tal stop why was this freaking good，， i read this in one sitting at the library and i felt like it rejuvenated my soul，， super light-hearted， HILARIOUS （plz i was trying so hard not to laugh aloud in the library）， with just the perfectly developed story and a cute romance that im super excited to see continue in the next book ，，， ugh it just hit right in the heart and it was super feel-good and like，， yeah only wish there was more baking that balanced the hockey talk and also。。 a tad less hockey talk cuz sometimes i was bored AND confused but other than that， no complaints，， can't wait to start the next one，， GAH LOVED THISSS ！！ （from the first page！！！ and that rarely happens omgosh） 。。。more

THIS WAS SO CUTE WHAT THE FFFFFFLegit， every single one of these characters， main and side， were so charming and hilarious。 I genuinely laughed so much and even laughed so hard that my eyes watered and I started to wheeze-laugh。 Those Bitty tweets are so funny fksndjsnOn a more serious note， I really loved this。 The characters were fantastic， and their complex relationships to one another and outside of their team were wonderfully fleshed out。 A problem I tend to have with sports manga or graphi THIS WAS SO CUTE WHAT THE FFFFFFLegit， every single one of these characters， main and side， were so charming and hilarious。 I genuinely laughed so much and even laughed so hard that my eyes watered and I started to wheeze-laugh。 Those Bitty tweets are so funny fksndjsnOn a more serious note， I really loved this。 The characters were fantastic， and their complex relationships to one another and outside of their team were wonderfully fleshed out。 A problem I tend to have with sports manga or graphic novels is when the newbies/freshmen come in and we get nothing about them; it only ever focuses on the seniors or established characters but not here！！！ Dex， Chowder， and Nursey are amazing too。 Shitty was #1。 I am a HUGE fan of him。 Bitty is also a really great protagonist。 He’s anxious， sarcastic， fun， and loving， and when he came out to Shitty， I melted。 It was a really sweet scene。I don’t know much about hockey， and my only knowledge is from my Canadian bestie （shout out to Max）， and while Check Please！ didn’t give us a lot of info about hockey unlike some other sports-related fiction， I had a lot of fun reading it and still enjoyed it without a lot of knowledge on the subject。 I supported Ngozi’s Year 4 Kickstarter recently， so I’m excited for when I get the whole set + the extra stories and materials for Check Please！ especially the extra Bitty and Jack story。 Gosh， they’re so cute。I seriously recommend Check Please！ It’s fun， charming， and emotional all at once， and every character will make you fall in love with them over and over again。ALSO THAT LAST BIT WITH RANSOM AND HOLSTER’S HOCKEY POWERPOINTS NFNSNRBRN thank you for addressing Hockey Butt and Jack Zimmermann’s sweet， sweet ass 🙏 #blessup 。。。more

i went in expecting to absolutely love this considering so many others have given it five stars and deem it one of their favorites but i found it to be just okay？ :（ the art was wonderful and i liked the college setting and hockey aspect but i found myself constantly struggling to care for these characters， which i feel is supposed the be the what the comic is all about。 we kinda got that found family vibe with the team aspect， which i usually love， but it didn't really come across as fleshed ou i went in expecting to absolutely love this considering so many others have given it five stars and deem it one of their favorites but i found it to be just okay？ :（ the art was wonderful and i liked the college setting and hockey aspect but i found myself constantly struggling to care for these characters， which i feel is supposed the be the what the comic is all about。 we kinda got that found family vibe with the team aspect， which i usually love， but it didn't really come across as fleshed out， or *earned* to me？ maybe it has something to with the episodic nature as i know check please was originally a webcomic。 i think i just had astronomical expectations based on high praises and other books/comics with a similar premise （fence， aftg， etc） that i really enjoy。 i'll be picking up the sequel， and who knows， maybe i'll end up coming around and loving it in the end but i cant help but be a little disappointed。 。。。more
